Why The Tyla Hate?

Introduction
Recently, I've been seeing A LOT of hate on Tyla, since the beginning of her rise to stardom.
If you don't know who Tyla is already, to make it short, she is a South African, Afrobeat pop star who gained her fame recently [around 2021] with her single, "Water". As of now, she has released her "We Wanna Party" EP. In my opinion, she's thriving!
While she has had so much success, I'm also noticing the amount of hate she's receiving on the internet, with people continuously calling her "fans" about anything she does.
Moments That stick to me:
Tyla was in an interview a while back during her "Water" Era, an interviewer was asking her about her ethnicity. She said she'd identified as "colored". Now when this came out, the people lost their minds. Tyla doesn't identify as black? Does she know half her audience is black? is she anti-black? these are some of the backlash people fired her way.
Without enough context, yes, what she said might've sounded crazy, but still, once you understand the lore of South Africa, and why some of the people there call themselves 'colored', you will see that there was a MASSIVE misunderstanding in the Black community. Yes, I do also believe that moment of tension could've been the best
moment to educate on the podcast, but still, it shows how there's a big lack of knowledge when it comes to African history. Huge concern.
Linking back to recent times, I've seen that Tyla has gone on tour. She traveled to Saudi Arabia. Now with their strict dressing, Tyla whore a black top and leggings to be respectful to, not only their standards, but her supporting audience. RESPECTFUL. I mean, she could've done a bit better, but then again, her intentions were pure.
Maybe I'm crazy, but these people came to enjoy Tyla's music, most importantly, and then out of the blue, Tyla commits "arson".
This one isn't as recent. There was a time when Tyla had an outfit relatively close to Brittney Spears' 2001 VMA outfit. She got hell'a backlash about it. At some point, she had to defend herself. There was not a moment of fresh air for this girl because her reaction earned even MORE backlash. She said she had no inspiration from Brittney, but even if that's not the case, if the girl wants to dress like Britney, let her.
Her EP album wasn't getting as much love cause I guess apparently her "fans" wanna pull a “Doja Cat” [Scarlet Era] and start PROUDLY boycotting her music and boasting about it on the internet. Of course, it didn't last long until the album skyrocketed after her added single "Channel". Good for her.<3
People find the lamest reasons to hate on her; her music is such a bang. And I am honestly proud of the way she handles all the hate. Regardless of it all, she's the one living the dream.
Conclusion
In conclusion, It is clear as day that we need to educate ourselves before going off at Artists/Celebrities and let them have the same freedoms as us. These are human beings who make mistakes and have emotions and passions. Tyla isn't a criminal. Just enjoy her music.
