Introduction

Do you wish you could one day pull your crush aside and ask him to marry you? Maybe not to that extent, but you want to ATLEAST confess your love to him and get him to admit that he feels the same way? Luckily for you, I can give you 5 steps that can guide you closer to your goal.

(PS: These techniques are not guaranteed, so be careful!)

Step One: Ask For Favors

If you really like this guy, you've probably spent a lot of time gathering information about him. Let's take advantage of that. If you are fully committed, take any opportunity that can get you a space to talk to him. This can be very scary at first, but you have to remember that communication is the only ingredient that can make a relationship bloom. If you want to take the riskier route, I must warn you; if you start talking to him out of the blue, he could catch on pretty quickly- get suspicious. "I don't know this girl. Why would she ask me that? Does she like me?" Make sure the scenery makes sense; it will hide your intentions.

Here's an example: You like this guy named Paul. He is a photographer for your school. You happen to be in a book club. You want to shoot your first shot, so you decide to be brave and ask him a question in person. "...I am in this club, and I was wondering if you were down to take some professional photos for our club?"

***A good thing about this step is, you get a first impression of his true colors. Even if he declines your offer, there are so many other opportunities to try again with this first step.

Step Two: Become Friends

You got past Step One. Congratulations! This next step involves a lot of patience. It is really important that you don't rush your relationship. Try to break his 'closed-up' barrier. Slowly show your personality. Think of it as trying to become friends with a celebrity you look up to.

Back to my example: Our guy, Paul, accepted your request and meets you at the Library where the book club is holding their meeting. You are invested in what he has to offer. When he notices this, he decides to show you how to operate his camera.

***Everyone likes when other people are amped about their interests. Engage him in conversation- make sure to avoid binary questions (yes or no). The best part about all this is that he gets to have a glimpse of who you are. He might recall how unique and optimistic were, and draw back from his 'blocked-up' persona the next time he talks to you.

Step Three: Hang-Out

Finally, now that you've opened the bridge, it's time to get to know each other. What better way to get to know each other than to go outside and make memories? Where should you go? These are my thoughts:

***Don't go to a quiet environment: like a park.

A place like this will force you guys to talk. The main problem here is that you guys probably don't know enough about yourselves quite yet. There's gonna be a lot of crickets that are going to make you go INSANE. It might also make him second think hanging out with you because he doesn't want to experience that same awkward experience again.

***Go to an exciting environment: like an arcade.

Think of an exciting place... like an arcade, [for example], as a host at your party. You will be less focused on making the date fun, because your host (the arcade) is taking care of it all. You will most likely make him want to spend time with

You more often if he's positive that you will bring the same energy every time. Then, eventually, when there are enough moments to share, you can go to those quieter locations. You will know when the time is right.

Step Four: Show-Signs

At this stage, by now, you should feel comfortable being vulnerable with him- I hope. It is time to make some moves. Keep in mind that you are the lead of this relationship; he will only make the move if you open the door for him. You don't have to be bold and flirty to give him clues (you can if you want to). You can still give out hints by being reserved as well.

You just have to be clever.

For example, you and Paul went out with a group of friends to hang out. Paul's outfit looks really good, so you decide to say extremely nice words about it. Your friend, who tagged along, knows your feelings towards Paul. After asking her for some help, she starts to playfully instigate the situation in order to bring attention to your compliment. You don't condemn your friend but rather smile really hard at him. After a moment of tension, you notice his flustered reaction; as much as he tries to hide it, it is super obvious that he was affected by your words. You just showed a sign of interest.

*** I'd advice you to be careful with how alluring you are planning to be with him. Some strategies can be too obvious. Depending on how close you two are, make sure he doesn't get uncomfortable.

Step Five: Confess.

This is the HARDEST step of all. But you've come so far, it's time to let him know. It all comes down to this moment- go to a safe, quiet spot, or send him a message during the weekend and express your love (It'll give you some time to regain your dignity before you have to face him again).

If you want some starter lines to set the scene, here you go:

  • "You're a good friend, and honestly, I am so glad we can connect in the way not many would understand. Knowing you, I can trust that you will continue to be kind to me, even with what I am about to say now..."

  • "I have been thinking about us for a while, and all of a sudden, I'm starting to feel like taking our relationship to the next level. Please understand that this is just my emotions, and no matter what you say, I will continue to be your friend..."

  • "I hope we can continue to be friends when I tell you this..."

  • "How do you feel about us?"

  • Or... just say it straight up, "I like you."

If any of these lines are too corny for your liking, I recommend checking out this site full of more lines to choose from: https://blog.gifft.me/love-confession/

***No matter the outcome, you should NEVER feel bad for being honest with yourself to him. It is better to see what will come out of the confession, rather than never saying anything at all. Be sure to be patient with yourself. You are about to have the most life changing conversation with your crush, so when it all goes down, be confident.

Preparing For The Inevitable

I can remember my fair share of horrifying moments confronting my crush. I'll just let you know, they all went really badly. To be honest, I am so glad I've gone through those awkward stages. It has helped me grow to realize that rejection is so much better than not even attempting. I had a crush on a guy, and he found out. He blocked me on all platforms regarding communication. Embarrassing. I'm in high school now, and I can say were pretty good friends now. Sometimes I forget that ever happened. If I can survive trauma, you most definitely can too. Fifteen years from now, you won't even be able to recall your crush's name. Why don't you give it a shot?

Conclusion

I'm want to start off by saying- I am not an expert, and I have little to no experience in this field. But this is what I believe is the best way to secretly let your crush know that you like them in the safest way. Not all confessions will get the same results. At the same time, if he truly is a good person, he will be mature enough to push all that embarrassment aside. Why should a 'love confession' get in the way of a good friendship?
